FDMA44 began after the exhibition « Des charrues et des hommes », at the Château de Chateaubriant (July 2005 to November 2006), organized by the Department of Culture. It exists to support rural museums and staff (paid or volunteer) who may feel isolated, not supported by government, and under resourced.
